wow, havent done this in a while. just thought i'd tAlk about new years. in acuna.
so, left around 3:30 with garrett and mark and had to drive forever to get to del rio. ate at wendy's, checked into the hotel, got all hott-ed out for the clubs in mexico, then took a cab across the border around 10. got waaaasted. first club, el antro, just had a corona, then went to the up and down and had tequila sunrises and jello shots all night. totals? sunrises= at least 5, jello shots=5, then flaming dr peppers=1. got down with garrett, bradley (smith) almost raped me dancing, then danced with this girl, Victoria, from stephensville. cab ride home around 4 with garrett, mark, victoria, and victorias friend motley. saw bradley and his brothers all fighting with some dudes who had gotten into the cab and talked shit to motley... they spit in her face and then the guys saw it and got into a fight, about 100 feet from the us border... mark got out and tried to help cause bradley and his brother were both passed out on the street... mark got back in, crossed the border, then got out again, and me and garrett and victoria and motley went to skillets to get breakfast. i got victorias number, then they left and garrett and i ate, worried that everyone would be in jail in mexico forever. wasted, we walked back to the hotel where everyone was alive (a little beat up, but apparently, the other guys left in ambulances). slept for like 3 hours on the floor, then left around 10:30 to drive home, where my mother knew i didnt exactly stay the night at cassies...
needless to say, great first time mexico experience, even though i almost got raped, the guys almost went to jail, and i didnt get away with it. but fun! the hangovers kinda gone by now...

so. this morning, at 10:30, i awoke to my mom saying "monica! get up! i just found ruby outside, she's in now, but she's all beat up and her leg is limp and the bone is sticking out"
so i go downstairs and see my cat, laying on the floor, with a limp front paw and about an inch of bone sticking out. this, in addition to puncture wounds that are getting infected and scraped off patches of fur, plus blood, kind of freaked me out. i got dressed and we took her to the vet. it was horrible. her ear was scraped, right above her eye, her mouth, her back legs, her back, bloody fur on her stomach, plus her limp leg. we knew the leg couldnt be saved. this is the second fight she's gotten into this week. the vet said that the leg alone would be at least 500 to amputate. plus flushing all the wounds.
then ruby spit out a tooth.
so after my mom called my stepdad, who is the only person my cat really likes, we decided that since she is practically wild, and will definitely get into another fight (since she's had two so far, even after being initially injured), that we had to put her to sleep.
we left at 11 when the vet told us that they would sedate her to put her out of her pain, and then put her down. i cried for about an hour. that includes while trying to walk out of the vet.
RIP ruby. i loved ya.
i've got to stop crying, this was 3 hours ago.

crazy dream time (uhgain)
so yeah. colleen and stephen come to visit me. but i'm in some gay play, at like a college seminar thing, and my mom is in the audience, and i dont know colleen and stephen are there yet. so i do the play, and completely forget my cue, and then they cut out an entire scene (cause at a random part cassie comes out like in our play in school and goes "ollie ollie oxen freeee" and i jump out from behind a bush...?) so i'm all off and pissed and confused. after the play i go outside and BOOM theres colleen and stephen! except we're like... at uncw... outside, by one of the fields. so my mom drives up my car, but it's so dirty that you can't even see the checkerboard, and they're like "thats lame, but whatever" so they get in the car and i'm like "OMIGOD i have to show you midland!" and we start driving around, but then out of nowhere i'm like completely lost, im like PAST midland college (from my house) even though i'd only been driving about 2 minutes... so we get out cause they're like "no cars allowed!" and it looks kinda like some scientific field place... and we go inside a building to ask how to get home, but then it's not colleen and stephen, it's colleen and garrett... we go inside and theres like a big warehouse and these huge thick plastic walls and it's like a maze, and the guy's like "HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE?!?!?!" and i'm like uuh the door, and i turn around and theres no door. so the guys like 'there's no way to get out....' and we start wandering through the maze, and they're doin all these like scary experiments on animals and screaming at us to get out... then finally some other guy (by the way, they're all in white lab coats..) is like "here! you can get out if you go through these doors, but follow my instructions closely... and even if you do, you might turn out a little... different... when you get out." so then the people change from colleen and garrett to jordan and garrett... and the guys like 'ok... wait,wait,wait,wait, GO!" and pushes us through (one at a time like that) through this like 10 inch rotating door...and if you go at the wrong time it'll like kill you. so we go through about 3 of those, and we're out. then we're all on some bleachers, but it's like a restaurant, and jordan orders hot wings, and it turns out to be like popcorn chicken, and she starts bitching because that's what she had for lunch, and i dont eat so i have some of hers... and when we all got out, we were the same, except garrett turned into a pirate. like he wasnt himself dressed as a pirate, he was a completely different, person, completely a pirate, but with like garretts emotions and shit. so he was like still my boyfriend and everything, but it's like he'd been raised a pirate. and i was like "garrett can i have some of your french fries" and he was like "arrrgggh wench!" and i was like "ok whatever i'll have to get used to this pirate thing" and then jordans like ugh you want the rest of my nasty chicken (still bitching) and garretts like (in an extreme pirate voice) "only if you put it down your shirt, matey!" and then my phone rang and woke me up.
is that the weirdest dream ever? i think it tops the moulin rouge/boy scout/mr T. dream....

i'm in the mood to *dance* for realz. i wish i could go clubbin, alone, but with confidence, but not here, in wilmington, where all the people are drunken college-bourne folk. if that made any sense...? i wanna go clubbin when i go back to wilmington. and get my tattoo. ma mere brought it up again, NOT me. im wearin jeans that are fallin off cause they're too big, and a short shirt, and my stepdad goes 'your shirts too short' and my mom goes 'thats where you need your tattoo....' and i said 'well i can use my money from my job to get it' and she didnt respond. i think shed let me...
btw, the job i just spoke of:
my dad recruited me for his friend. shes going back to school (university of phoenix online) and is getting As in everything--except math. she sent me her algebra 1 final on tuesday and is paying me to do it (checks in the mail, for how much i'll found out when i get it in). she has an 'advanced algebra' 5 week course coming up, and shes gonna have me tutor her/do the work for her. on the final i did all the problems, wrote out all the steps, and sent it back. so thats what ill do on all her algebra homework for 5 weeks, starting the 15th. $100 a week. nice eh? it's a job, doing something i do for free anyway, doing something i enjoy, getting WAY more than minimum wage. not to mention, i get to do math, which i've been missing... (dork).... and i get MONAY.

another monologue (kinda gay, but i tried haha)
When you close your eyes really really tight, you know how you kind of see splotches of light? Have you ever done that and actually seen something? Imagine if you didn't just see an image, or shape, but a person. A person that you grew up with, played nintendo with, rode bikes for the first time with. Now THAT would be freaky, right?
When I was 14 my best friend Drew died. His grandmother had a heart attack while she was driving him to school, and their car hit a tree head on, going full speed. Drew and I had been close since we'd been born; our parents had been friends in high school. When I entered middle school, he was the only person who ever kept me from skipping, because I hated everything about it. In early high school, Drew kept me from going to the wrong parties, which I resented. I'd complain and yell at him about making me a loser, and he'd just smile and expose his nerdy blue braces. I didn't understand his reasoning behind staying home and watching movies until the people throwing the awesome parties got arrested. He always kept an eye on me, and I never thanked him for it. It's been 5 years since Drew died. But he never quite left me.
Whenever I get too scared, or too lost, or too confused to handle life on my own, I just squint my eyes really hard. Drew's always there for me. He always has been.
